The Chair of Macroeconomics offers bachelor and master theses' in different research areas. You can suggest your own topics if they fit to the research focus of the chair.

Behavioral Finance | e.g. overconfidence in markets, disposition effect, cognitive ability in markets, extrapolative expectations |
Industrial Organization | e.g. market power, concentration, price transmission |
Requirements
Students who would like to write a thesis at the Chair of Macroeconomics should have completed the basic course "Macroeconomics" (AVWL II) and at least one further course at the Chair or an equivalent course at another university. Ideally you have also completed one of our bachelor's or master seminars. Theses can be written in German or English, however, the ability to read scientific papers in English is indispensable.
Students who want to apply should hand-in a proposal in which the following questions are addressed:
(Formatting: 1-2 pages, Arial/Times New Roman/Calibri, 12pt, 1.5-2.0 line spacing, English or German)
1. What are the key research questions?
2. Why are these interesting questions and non-trivial to answer (motivation)?
3. What scientific literature (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles), methods and/or model(s) will be used?
Please send your proposal and a current version of your transcript of records to macroeconomics-tb-info2@win.tu-berlin.de or to frank.heinemann@tu-berlin.de. Please make sure to provide the following information:
- Your name and your student ID number
- Your subject of study and your area of specialization
- The prefered starting date to write the thesis

Further information
Please inform yourself independently about the conditions (application, deadlines, etc.) of writing a thesis. You can get the relevant information at the examination office (Prüfungsamt) and/or in the study and examination regulations of your study program.
